lyrics

It was Halloween or something
We were trapped on the island
Thought there was a bus that could take us off
But I guess we were just a little naive
A haunted maze or something
People jumping and scaring
But when we got lost we all froze up
There was no way back into the city
Halloween or something we went
To the parking garage
What a classic place to be
On this classic holiday to have a party

Step one is to have some fun
Step two is to drink until you can't anymore
Then you'll sit down on the floor
Try to pound down a couple more
Find someone that you want to kiss
Stand close to them and ask them questions like this
Where are you from? Is it better than here?
Oh I bet it doesn't even compare
Because in a covid city we all got the same agenda
Just drink 'till you can't even stand up
I know it doesn't seem like a lot to do
But it sure is a hell lot more than what we're used to
It's our first holiday away from our parents
So we all had the general consensus
To do something that we'll never forget
You gotta love the irony in that statement

And we'll try to remember this night
For as long as we can

And the cops, they swiftly came
As soon as they got the call
There's graffiti on the wall of the parking lot
And who would've thought
That it would be the kids that were running away
As quickly as they came
Beer cans crushed on the floor
Red wine, cigarettes, and more
Split up in pairs
Go down the stairs
And we'll meet each other there
We'll meet each other where?
Well there's a park that's just across the block
It's about a ten or fifteen minute walk
Oh God Dennis and Jackson stayed
Oh good they're taking the blame

(They're getting away)
(You can't catch me)
(Somebody stop them)
(Go go go go go go go)
(They went that way)
(You can't run forever)
(Ya? Watch me)

We'll try to remember this night
For as long as we can
But if we wake up in the middle of the morning
And don't know a single thing
Then I guess it never happened
If we wake up in the middle of the afternoon
And can't recall a single thing
Then I guess it never happened

The light that shines above this city
Oh god, look up, doesn't it look pretty?
I swear I scared my family
Because now they think they will never see me
But am I really the one to blame?
The atmosphere here just isn't the same
In a covid city we all got the same agenda
Just drink 'till you can't even stand up

If I wake up in the middle of the morning
And don't know a single thing
Then I guess it never happened
If I wake up in the middle of the afternoon
And can't recall a single thing
Then I guess it never happened

And if they ask us

There were none of us there
There were none of us there
There were none of us there
Oh god I wish there were none of us there
None of us there
There were none of us there
There were none of us there
Oh god I wish there were none of us there

I swear it's always so much better the first time
Going to a party that doesn't cost a dime
Go there enough and pretty soon you'll find
You're the only one having a bad time
You think your friends really care if you die
The ones that you met, ya, just last night?

If there were none of us there
There'd be none of us there
Oh god I wish there were none us there
None of us there
I wish none of us were there
That would make this whole thing easier
If there were none of us there

Ok, ok, we'll do this one last time

Step one is to have some fun
Step two is to drink until you can't anymore
Then you'll sit down on the floor
Try to pound down a couple more
Find someone that you want to kiss
Stand close to them and ask them questions like this
Where are you from? Is it better than here?
Oh I bet it doesn't even compare
Because in a covid city we all got the same agenda
Just drink 'till you can't even stand up
I know it doesn't seem like a lot to do
But it sure is a hell lot more than what we're used to
It's our first holiday away from our parents
So we all had the general consensus
To do something that we'll never forget
You gotta love the irony in that statement

We'll try to remember this night
For as long as we can
